KIDS  PAINTING  CLASSES
Summer Class - Tuesday, July 20th and Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
$70.00 (plus taxes) per student for adolescents

Register at Posers Gallery.

The students will learn to do pre-painting sketches as well as
one abstract piece and one more realistic piece.  They will focus on painting
something simple in both forms of painting so they can see the contrast.
These two styles will give lots of opportunity to try different techniques, tools and mediums.

For those who took the spring break class,
Kari will teach new techniques and ideas!

Aprons, paints, brushes, and artists boards will be provided (included in cost).
Each student must bring a pencil, eraser and sketchbook.

Kari Wiebe, Instructor
"After spending a few years living elsewhere in Canada and attending university, I returned to my hometown, Morden.  I now live here with my husband in a house that was built in 1900 -  which means it's been here pretty much since the beginning as far as this town is concerned.  I love anything with character from my old house to my 1923 cruiser bicycle.  One of my favorite things to do is to dig through the old barns and out buildings on my family's farm for forgotten treasures.  My loves include antique and vintage shops, coffee, painting, clothing design, and traveling.  I also love music.  That being said, I do still love a good bout of silence on my front porch to refresh.

I discovered my penchant for painting about eight years ago and have stuck with it over the years, exploring different methods and techniques. Though my post-secondary studies are largely focused on History and English, I have also enjoyed several elemental design courses in the mix.  I use a variety of mediums, most often painting in acrylics.  My favorite surfaces to paint include wood and canvas.  My personal style is generally quite abstract, although I have ventured outside this style often when creating custom artwork for clients.  I  have been fortunate to have many opportunities to do this as of late.

In the past year I have started a home business called Dove Tree where I sell artwork, clothing, and accessories that I design and create in my free time.  Short term, I plan to complete a website in the next few months to display some of my artwork - linking to my Dove Tree (Etsy) page and possibly a blog as well.  Long term, I would love to spend my days solely focused on my Dove Tree projects.  This would mean creating and being creative all day!"
