
What is fusing and slumping? Well, for those who have already taken a basic beginner stained glass class - you are already one step ahead of the others. You need to know how to cut glass for starters! (But I will teach you or renew your memory if you forgot!) Fusing is the act of placing 2 or more pieces or layers of glass on top of each other or beside one another, and "fuse" them in a glass kiln to become one piece. Slumping is when you take that "fused" (now 1 piece of) glass and lay it in a ceramic mold and once again fire it in a glass kiln so it will take the shape of that mold. There's a few more tricks which I will teach, but basically -That's it!
